Biography:
Evcimen is trained as a Mathematical Engineer. Earned his Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy title in Management. Since 1997, he has been working as a management consultant and contributed to the future strategies of over 600 institutions. He taught creativity and entrepreneurship courses at Bogazici University, Istanbul Technical University. Currently, he offers Innovation courses at the Air Force Academy.
Evcimen has been painting in oil and acrylic since 1994. In 2006, he was interested in photography. In the beginning of his photo journey, he experienced taking various types of photos and participated in workshops on portrait and fashion. In the later period, he participated in several masterclasses with the Magnum school representatives. In this way he had the opportunity to meet and work with masters like Abbas, Economopoulos D’agate, Chang and Zackman. He carried out various photographic projects in the Far East, India, America, Europe, and Turkey. Later, he started to work on long-term projects with the curator Hasan Şenyüksel. Since 2011, he has been photographing the artifacts of the Eastern Roman Empire and the related civilizations
Exhibition: Stone
Stone has played a crucial role at the crossroads of humanity. Story of the human being started when the first person on the face of the earth held a stone in his hands. He used it as a tool three millions years a go. Thus, starting from the Stone Age, stone held an important role at every point in the human progress. It is his tool, weapon, shelter, wheel, house, temple, and even object of worship. Humans who found life in water, soil and living creatures found immortality in stone by giving their forms to stones into the stone carvings. As the stones began to transfer the information with symbols, written history commenced. It is very difficult to the story of humanity without understanding the understanding evolution of the form and content of the stone. A short, stone-based summary of Anatolia is actually a journey made to the core of the history of humanity.
